Monday 15th to Tuesday 16th May, Gyali

As we started late, just a short 10 mile run from Kos to the small island of Gyali, anchoring in about 5m quite close to the pumice mining terminal. The island is actually gradually disappearing (like Portland?!!) as vast quantities of pumice are open cast mined, being used for polishing, abrasive etc.
Coming across from Kos, we noticed a small bit of damage to the UV strip on the genoa, caused by our overpowered sail from Kos. So before we left on Tuesday morning we unfurled it lowered it and made the necessary repairs with sail tape and a sewing needle and tread.
