An early start at dawn (0715 am) with the aim to get 50+ miles to Seriphos, but in the end the wind direction took us slightly south and after 43 miles and nearly 8 hours of sailing westwards in 20 to 30 knot northerlies (again) and 2-3m waves we opted for Vathi, a sheltered bay on the western side of Siphnos. En route we experienced a close sail past by a Greek naval vessel, who we thought might be checking up on us, but more likely, just sailing past. Either way it was reassuring to see civilisation.
