Wednesday 2nd to Saturday 5th September, Travel to Leros and launch

After nearly 5 weeks travelling round southern UK in Panda, and of course visiting George, the new Grandson, it was time to return to Greece. So this time a Jet2 flight from Bournemouth to Kos, a prearranged taxi transfer to Kos town with an overnight in Popi apartments.
The free morning gave us the opportunity to find somewhere to take passport photos of us in preparation for next Monday. (more in the next post).
A ferry to Leros (Agia Marina) on Thursday afternoon with a well needed beer waiting for the next taxi to be available. So a short taxi ride to a very dusty Jacana.
Friday was taken up with washing Jacana down and preparing for launch on Saturday morning. Also we’ve had a slight leak for several weeks from the calorifier, so I spent several attempts, reaching over the engine to fix what I thought was a weeping joint, on closer examination, and cutting away some of the insulation, it became apparent that the cylinder was leaking. So with a leaking calorifier, we launched second in the queue on Saturday morning into a brisk northerly.
