With strong northerlies forecast, we opted for Lakki Marina for a few nights, and it’s free as we’re still under contract with Moor and Dock. Having lost our boat cover last winter, we got quoted for a new one to be made €4000(!). Talking to the Italian chap next to our boat, who bought his at the hardware store, we did the same and bought a couple of uv stable, and strong (we hope) covers which we hope, with a bit of adjustment will cover Jacana for a few years to come and cost €150. Also, the galley mixer tap has been dripping for a few weeks now, and the local chandlery had a very similar one to the old one in stock for a reasonable €50. I could have taken the old one apart and cleaned it, but it would have probably leaked even more. So after, lots of swearing, another visit to the chandlery to get the correct connectors, and an hour reaching up under the sink, on my back in 40°C we have a non dripping mixer tap.
We were then invited next door on “Pure’ with Simon and Elene for pre dinner drinks and nibbles.
