Monday 2nd to Friday 6th October, Lift out and putting Jacana to bed for the winter

We were scheduled to be lifted out at 0930, and like a Swiss train we were called in, on time, and an hour later, propped up at K34, the same cradle place as last winter. So on with the jobs, greasing and exercising sea cocks (some are very difficult to get to), dropping the anchor chain, cleaning the locker, cleaning the tender, tidying up down below, flushing the engine, changing the anode on the outboard…….. , fixed winter covers.

We even found time for a trip into Preveza to buy new shoes. Then had a final meal with Nigel and Mo (they were lifted out immediately after us and we’d met them earlier in the year at Kiparissia) on Friday afternoon at Pano’s before sharing a taxi with them to the airport and flying back to Gatwick.

So that’s it for 2023!

However after an overnight at Gatwick we caught an early flight to Copenhagen for a week in Zealand staying with Ann’s cousin.
