Being Friday we had to move off the Preveza pontoon, so motored in the still morning air to Preveza where we moored stern to on the Town Quay for a couple of hours while we caught up with some final provisions, a new folding step (cos James broke the old one) and a new soft brush for washing the deck. Then after topping up the fuel tanks (is this a good idea?) on to Vonitsa, sailing all the way where we again moored stern to on the harbour mole. This was our chance to relax for a couple of days in advance of lift out on Monday. Sarah (Canadian) and Miles (English) on NelleBelle recommended eating at a little Greek restaurant at the far end of the main road in Vonitsa called Gyro Folia meaning Round Nest. It’s best to ring about 6pm to find out what he’s bought from the butcher and pre-order. He does liver or spleen and other offal all cooked on the spit and if you’re brave enough it is very delicious.
Priory to leaving on Sunday we dropped and neatly flaked the sails, gave “Basil” our only plant we’d nurtured since April to Simon (Swedish) who is a live-aboard, and motored back to Hospital Bay, Preveza, to anchor for our final night on the water.
