Sunday 9th to Monday 10th July, Zea Marina, Piraeus (Athens)

We actually managed to sail most of the way from Kanakia to Zea, avoiding the anchored up oil tankers and then the high speed ferries heading out of Piraeus to the many islands. We chose Zea for the convenience of picking up Fern. But at over €80 for one night, having to wait circling in the harbour entrance for over half an hour, not being told where showers etc were, and for the difficulty in mooring up, this will be our last! As is common, as we reversed in there was a strong cross wind. Normally in such circumstances, a Marino will nudge the bow to help, but the Marinos were no where to be seen. Consequently the stern to mooring was not pretty, and not helped by the pontoon based Marino not knowing which line to take first, insisting on the downwind one and then having no idea how to sweat a line!
Anyway, we eventually tied up and a couple of hours later Uber brought Fern to the marina.
