Monday 1st to Friday 5th May, stuck in Lefkas

We upped anchor in Hospital Bay at 10am for the 9 mile journey south to Lefkas, via the 12 o’clock bridge opening. As is usual in the Ionian, there was no morning wind, so it was a matter of motoring down. By chance, I looked at the battery voltages and noticed that the engine battery was charging at 15.4v, far too high. But at least in Lefkas we can get it looked at.

Also with rain and very strong winds forecast for Tuesday evening, it provided an opportunity to catch up with Gwen and Pete.

And it was very windy, up to 30kts and thunder, lightening and almost continuous rain until Thursday evening, so we were glad to have the comfort of a pontoon berth for 4 nights and the opportunity to shop in breaks in the rain.

On Wednesday, Joe from CYS diagnosed a dodgy connection on the sense wire from the alternator, which seems to have solved the problem. (I must find out more about alternators and charging, not as simple as it seems!)

Anyway, Friday morning brought blue skies and Sun, so we’re off.
