A week in Kastos

Having been very lucky to get a prime spot on the inner harbour wall, we decided to make the most of it, enjoy the ‘fun’ of others mooring – there are still a lot of Italian boats around, who have a passion for shouting at each other – the scenery, just relaxing and sampling the three tavernas and three bars, and a bit of walking and swimming. Just behind the harbour wall was some excellent snorkeling, and particularly exciting was swimming with the biggest shoal of small fish we had ever seen. There were literally millions of them.

On the day before we left, a couple of Romanian chaps started flying a very irritating drone, but they did speak good English and gave us a couple of videos of Jacana and Kastos from above.

Eventually we got the call from the chap in Vliho Bay that he was ready to fit the cocktail seats on the new Gantry, so reluctantly, on Friday morning we released the stern lines and upped the anchor.
