Day 66 Chamouilley to Chevillon

Sunday 7th June

Another short run of 12km, 5 locks and 2 remote controlled bridges brings us to the village of Chevillon, this time against a newly built wooden faced concrete quay, with heaps of rubble and freshly laid foundations for what will probably be a future well equipped stopping off point. At least we seem to be heading properly south at last.
We're now 167m above sea level with another 170m and 50 locks to go to the top of the canal. Then it's down hill all the way to the Mediterranean!
