Tuesday 30th September to Wednesday 1st October, Port Stretto South Bay, Arkoi,

A good 3.25 hour downwind south easterly sail for the 20 miles to the island of Arkoi. We initially tried going stern-to on the village Quay, unfortunately the cross wind had other ideas, particularly given the restricted manoeuvring space in the harbour. Plan B, the bay round the corner, with 4 mooring boys. Unfortunately the only one free had insufficient depth, so Plan C, anchoring in the next bay, Port Stretto South Bay.
We went for a walk ashore, to the pretty village of Arkoi where we failed to moor up, and ended up eating in a rather disappointing Taverna Apolafsi, near where we’d tied our tender.
Lovely to hear the goats/sheep with their bells and then to see them climbing down the hill to drink some salty sea water.
