Just 1 night at anchor off Limnonari Beach before heading across, with a good sail on Friday to the sheltered bay at Milia on the south coast of Alonnisos. Here anchoring is forbidden, so we picked up the last of the 5 mooring boys, provided specifically to protect the sea bed from anchors. With strong north easterlies (the way we want to go) forecast until late on Sunday, we made the best of the stop. On Saturday we took the dinghy ashore and walked the 5 miles to the beautiful old village (Chora) of Alonnisos, perched high on the side of a hill overlooking the sea and Skopelos. Unlike many of similar villages, this catered for tourists with lots of tack shops, coffee bars and tavernas. With imminent blisters we taxied back to Milia. Sunday we walked in the other direction to a beautiful beach at Kokkinonisi, enjoying a snack and cold drink under the thankful shade of the bar canopy.
As a consequence of the strong winds, the stop was a bit uncomfortable with a constant swell entering the harbour.
