Monday 9th June to Thursday 19th June, Skiathos, a week with Fern and Stew and Skiathos again

Back to the pontoon at Skiathos town for a couple of nights to restock and wait for the Tuesday’s arrival of Fern and Stew. The airport is not far away so we walked there and walked back to Jacana with them, via a bar of course. We left Skiathos Wednesday morning and had a truly great week visiting Patitiri and Steni Vala on Allonisos, a couple of nights in Skopolos, then round to Loutraki on Skopolos and back to Skiathos on Monday. Great company, great food and some good sailing. Stew being a keen fisherman, finally caught 3 decent fish from our pontoon berth in Skiathos. They flew back to the UK on Tuesday.
So then a couple of days doing laundry, and catching up with Mandy and Kev again over a few beers and an Indian curry. We noticed a sign at the Indian restaurant advertising yoga on Thursday in the garden at 730 in the morning so Mandy and Ann went along but it was a disappointing class with not much content and she charged us €20 each!
And because Fern brought out a set of sockets for removing bolts with damaged heads, I was finally able to remove the water pump pulley, which allows the removal of the timing belt cover, so I was finally able to change the timing belt, the tensioner and idler pulley!, all thanks to a second hand Haynes workshop manual for the 2 litre diesel Austin Maestro and Montego engine. (The Volvo Penta MD22L-B is the same Perkins engine but with VERY expensive turquoise paint and a sea water heat exchanger).
