We’d planned on going north across the Channel and visit the small town of Agia Kyriaki, however as is typical the cross wind as we reversed in to pick up a mooring line resulted in us nearly ending sideways on, coupled with the fact that there was a possibility of an adverse southerly overnight we abandoned Kyriaki in search of a sheltered anchorage. We headed further north to a bay on the western side of small island of Palaio Trikeri, only stopping for lunch as the anchor struggled to set well, so, round the corner to the very sheltered and attractive bay of Ormos Varélia. We actually stopped here 3 nights, with the opportunity for Ann to do a bit more sanding in the cockpit. On Saturday however we did up anchor to anchor off the small town of Milina for a few hours for a leg stretch and a few provisions, but then back to Varélia bay to grill a couple of very delicious pork chops in the Cobb oven.
