With the wind blowing below 20 knots, although still from the north, we had a good sail 12 miles westward to the town of Eretrea, anchoring in 10m off the main beach. Being Wimbledon ladies final day and with temperatures running at 37°, Ann spent the afternoon on board watching tennis, and again on Sunday afternoon with the men’s final, and of course the Euros final on Sunday night. Monday, despite the high temperature we actually ventured off the boat, visiting ruins of the ancient city of Eretrea and it’s associated amphitheatre and museum. Then Monday evening we caught up with a couple of beers with Paul and Diane (we’d met earlier in Karavos) and a delicious taverna meal.
Up at 0515 on Tuesday morning to be hauled out 5 miles away on the mainland at the Boat club.
