We’d intended on anchoring in the bay, but this year, the bathing limit buoys seem to be in much deeper water, so we went stern to on the Town Quay, where the young lady that took our money last year in New Epidavros took €5 for one night’s stay.
The real reason for coming here again was to stock up on citrus fruit preserves from the organic shop round in the next bay. So once it had cooled down a bit we walked the mile or so and purchased 7 large jars of citrus preserves including hand cream for €70. We ordered some Greek beer were immediately spoilt by Dimitri’s generosity. He gave us a fresh salad with olives, olive oil, bread, cherry tomatoes, organic Peloponnese unsalty feta, cucumber, then topped it up with other local cheese and a sprinkling of his own harvested oregano. And loads of freshly picked, ripe apricots. The more we ate, the more he topped up! Reluctantly we left with jars of citrus jams, hand cream and more free apricots.
