Once we’d said our farewells to Fern, a chance to rest and recharge (ourselves, not the batteries) and more importantly, with a launderette not far away, catch up with the laundry. And what a relief, as we’re experiencing a heatwave with temperatures up to 40 degrees, to sit in an air conditioned launderette for an hour!
In the evening we returned to the same, very friendly Alexandra’s Taverna we had eaten in with Fern the previous evening and again were greeted with a very friendly welcome. The Taverna is owned by the waiter’s mother and step father, it’s open 7 days a week but only till 5pm on a Sunday so tonight we were very lucky at 9pm, when we arrived, to find them open. Friends had been to a music concert in the town and asked especially if they could have a meal at 11pm which meant they would be there till 1am and the waiter only has 3 days off a year! Anyway, another great meal, and as we left we were gifted bottle of house wine. A real treat.

And after the excitement of the Corinth Canal, we didn’t take any photos!
