Just a 3 mile slow sail north in a gentle morning breeze to the harbour at New (Nea) Epidaurus, and for the first time since Kalamata, lazy (mooring) lines instead of dropping the anchor. So we didn’t really object to paying €5 for the night although water and electricity would have been extra. There’s not a lot here, except a few tavernas and a cocktail bar. Once the temperature had cooled a bit (it’s now low 30’s in the afternoon) we went for a walk through the village, through orange and mandarin groves, which as we discovered are now perfectly ripe. Also in the village is a hotel that welcomes you to use it’s pool if you eat there. There is a beach close by so unless there are jellyfish there’s no need fothe pool. We could easily have stayed for 2 nights, except that 40 racing yachts were coming in on Friday.
We did later venture to the cocktail bar, via a pretty lit up bridge over a stream, and what a disappointment, I don’t think I had any alcohol in mine and Ann’s was ruined by an over enthusiastic addition of bitters!
