After continuing with the many routine jobs, and of course leaving a few for those ‘rainy days’ (ha ha) lift in morning came round quickly, and even quicker on the day, when the lift in gang turned up over an hour early asking if we were ready! Fortunately we were and with the usual Cleopatra’s efficiency and professionalism we were on our way. The only fly in the ointment being the force 6 gusting 7 forecast, but thankfully from the west. So across the water to the sheltered town quay at Preveza for a couple of days to check things over, turn on the fridge to cool the beer and reprovision.
During our week at Cleopatra’s, we met Gary and Jan a lovely couple from Stratford, having just bought a 38′ cat are just about to embark on years of leasurely Greek sailing.
As an experiment this year, we decided to antifoul only those parts of the hull that really needed doing, rather than religiously doing the whole lot, after all, she’s only in the water for 6 months. We’ll see in October!
We’re planning on meeting Gwen and Pete on Monday in Lefkas, and as Lefkas is rammed with charter boats at weekends, we’ll stay in this area until then.
