After a final top up of provisions, which included a couple of striped Sea Bream, plus 3 unknown fish steaks that the fish monger threw in for free we were off! Once out of the Preveza channel we had an ideal first hour long sail with about 8-10kts on our beam giving a relaxing 5-6kt sail down to the Lefkas floating bridge. Once through the Lefkas channel we anchored up for a couple of hours and enjoyed the massive fish steaks we’d been given earlier. Then another gentle beam reach 5-6kt sail for an hour or so down to anchor in Varko Bay, where we’d arranged to meet up with friends Gwen and Pete on ‘What’s the Rush’ with the opportunity to catch up with them over a few pre-dinner drinks on Jacana. Friday was a jobbing day with a bit more cutting and polishing of the top sides and launching and testing the new tender. I managed to drop some plastic wrapping from the dinghy into the water and floating away rapidly, so Ann jumped in and retrieved it. A little cooler than she thought! Followed by an excellent BBQ on What’s the Rush to round off the evening. We’ve decided to stay here a further night before beginning to head south on Sunday when we need to be in Messolonghi for Thursday in order to get to Agrinio (by bus 🤪) for our second Police Station visit on Friday.
