With mill pond conditions we motored the dozen or so miles to Kalamos. Just round the top of the island we were entertained by 3 dolphins playing round the bow for a quarter of an hour. Then stern to with the anchor, under the direction of George into Kalamos Harbour for lunch and an afternoon walk. This is a great time of the year to come here with only a dozen boats tied up. We’d often seen St George’s church on the hill, but previously it was far too hot to walk up the steep long road to it. Ann picked some thyme, rosemary and sage that she noticed growing wild. What a magnificent view once we got there, (I couldn’t resist pulling the bell) and of course a well deserved beer once we got back down.
