We eventually unstuck ourselves from Palairos and sailed most of the way to Port Athini on Meganisi. We’d hoped to get on the mole at the head of the bay, but by the time we arrived it was full with 11 boats, so the alternative was an anchor drop with 2 long lines ashore tied to convenient trees. Despite plenty of space, our neighbouring French boat was not happy with us using our tape line, as in windy conditions, they can make an irritating noise. So after ‘politely’ giving him my thoughts, we doubled our resolve to keep our shore lines as they were! A lovely spot, more so after the French boat left in the morning, and we went for a longish walk over the hill to Vathi, and then to the lovely old village of Katomeri for a beer stop and back to Port Athini.
