So 2 nights in Abeliki Bay, in the shelter of the forecast northwesterlies, anchored with 2 lines ashore, tied to convenient trees and bushes. However the view in the bay was ‘ruined’ with the very ugly super yacht ‘Elada’ moored a few hundred yards away. It looks like it’s floating upside down. We’ve noticed several super yachts anchored and taking up lots of space in the bays on northern Meganisi, where I guess they can anchor for free, whilst their crew prepare the boat for the next jaunt of the owner.
Then a night in Spartahori, a beautiful small village with narrow streets overlooking the harbour. We tied up bows to, with a lazy line at the Spilia Taverna, helped by Stevie, the owner, whose only English comprised one word, ‘pullum’!, referring to the lines. So in exchange for a free mooring for the night, we were obliged to eat in his taverna, a place to which we’ll definitely return.
P. S. The incense stick is a great way of deterring mozzies in the still evening air.
