Sunday 16th August, Ormos Kalami

A short hop to a bay a few miles up the coast to another bay, this time a bit more crowded when we arrived, although many boats disappeared as evening approached. The ‘highlight’ was watching a yacht struggling with his windlass and seeing all his chain run out as he released the clutch. Fortunately it was tied on. When he did manage to get the windlass pulling up his chain, he discovered that he had caught a neighbour’s chain. So another half an hour tugging at the tight chain round the anchor with a boat hook until they realised that dropping a tied off line under the chain and lowering the anchor slightly, freed the situation in seconds.
