We spent a final hour looking round the beautiful town of Amalfi with its 3 dimensional steps leading up past house doorways through rock and masonry to dead ends or breath taking vistas.
Finally before we sailed off, we settled the mooring fee, we knew it was going to be excessive, but at €110 for cash, this was the most yet and with no showers or toilets! . The Italians next to us paid even more than this so we knew we weren’t being ripped off. But it was probably worth it for the experience of Amalfi. Getting out was slightly less tricky than getting in, but nevertheless required the skill of Guilio to negotiate past other boats in a very tight space.
We then motored and sailed to Ogliastro Bay for a FREE anchorage for the night.
