Day 147 Anse de Gau to Hyères plage

Wednesday 25th September

Another day with strong westerlies, so the original plan to anchor for the night at Port Cros on the island of Port Cros wasn't going to work, Port Man, where we anchored 10 days or so ago would have been OK, but it would have meant backtracking, so we headed for the mainland and the sheltered isthmus to the south of Hyères. Again an exhilarating close hauled sail with the wind gusting to nearly 30kts at times. We dropped the anchor near the beach for hopefully a peaceful night, although at the moment it's still blowing at 15-20 knots, but no swell so quite comfortable. Been eye splicing ropes ready to tie things down in the next strong winds at anchor.
