Tuesday 6th August
Today after the boulangerie run, we experienced the penultimate Saone lock, being asked to enter the lock after a 135m long barge. Fortunately with 185m long locks there was plenty of space for us. Another short run followed to Belleville-sur-Saone, except that the pontoon was full with a couple of long live aboard barges so we carried on for another 2km to Plan B, Montmerle, where again the 5 boat long pontoon was fully occupied, so Plan C dropping the anchor out of the main channel on the other side of the river. With a bit of luck we might get a place on the pontoon in the morning as there's a convenient supermarket at the top of the mooring and we've run out of veg!
