Sunday 28th July A fairly short run today of about 20 km downstream with one lock (over 180 metres long) to the lovely old town (aren’t they all!) of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, the confluence of the  river Doubs and the river Saone….

Saturday 27th July After yesterday's temperature of 38°, today was much cooler with threatening dark clouds in the sky, in fact with the very very heavy rain for the first couple of hours down the river, it was very cold….
