Tuesday 16 July
Another short run of 6 miles and 7 locks (over 4 hours) brings us to Rolampont, where we managed to squeeze in between a couple in a motor boat fromĀ Brighton and a couple from Holland, to a lovely spot that was not only free but had free electricity and water. Today also marks a milestone in that we have just passed the 1000 feet above sea level mark, with another 100 or so feet before we start going downhill.
Today's locks were typical of the previous 50 locks on this canal, although as one of the photos below shows, we had an interesting way of tying the stern in one of the locks, to the lock gate! Fortunately we were able to recover the situation once we had risen in the lock.
