Saturday 1 June
With less than 5 knots of wind, it was motor sailing to get us past Le Havre and up the first few miles of the Seine Estuary into Honfleur. We just made the very crowded, 1800 lock opening to allow us in to Honfleur Harbour where on good advice we rafted up on the pontoon just outside the inner harbour, rather than going inside. Honfleur is like a town from Harry Potter, with very narrow streets and old and very crooked buildings, overall very beautiful.
With the mast booked for removal on Wednesday in Rouen, we immediately decided that Honfleur was worth a further day…..
