Day 26 Dunkerque to Boulogne-sur-Mer

Tuesday 28 May

Nearly 40 miles to cover today, although Calais was an option at about half the distance if the weather was poor. The first half of the passage was excellent making a good 6 knots close hauled with a knot of tide against us. However as we rounded Cap Gris Nez, the wind dropped and shifted to the bow, so we motored the final 20 odd miles, although by this time we did have 1 to 2 knots of tide with us.
Arriving at Boulogne-sur-Mer marina late afternoon gave us the opportunity to eat on board and explore the old town. It's just as lovely as it was the last time we came here!
