The forecast was about right in predicting a westerly, and despite wanting to go South West, it was an uncomfortable journey with wind over tide, so we pulled in early at Dunkerque rather than battling on to Calais. This was after straying into an active firing range off Nieuwpoort and being asked politely by a range safety boat to alter course to the North.
We tied up in Dunkerque at about 3 and spent a very pleasant couple of hours exploring the town.
