Day 34 Rouan, mast removal

Wednesday

The day started at 0845 motoring literally round the corner to the Laganage Coop boat hoist to meet Christophe for the mast unstepping. This required a willing volunteer (Ann) to go up the mast to fix the sling below the lower spreader and a couple of metres further up above the radar reflector. Unfortunately we have no photos to substantiate this! With the help of a couple of Americans, Dave and Pat, who are having their mast removed tomorrow, the mast was lifted very professionally by Christophe. We then spent until 2, removing the rigging, radar etc and wrapping it in bubble wrap for transportation to Port Napoleon sometime in July.

It then rained for the rest of the day which was spent squirrelling away the bits taken off the mast.
That's over two days in Rouen and we have yet to leave the marina! Tomorrow we can relax (after helping Dave and Pat)
