Saturday 3rd May, The launch from the Boatclub

At last time to launch. We were scheduled to be 4th in the queue and launch at about 0900, in the end we were fifth and were motoring away by 0930. Before this however, a final few jobs, top up the water tanks, get the bikes on board, unplug shore power, and sweep the deck of pine needles. We were going to wash the deck down, but our German neighbours on Miss Mie were half way through applying 4 coats of very expensive F2Eco antifoul, and were rightly concerned about getting water on the hull. So washing can wait. We gave Sia a small potted flower as a thank you for providing such excellent and clean facilities and surprisingly in return she gave a jar of Peloponnese olives.
So with lots of shouting, Petras’ team efficiently manoeuvred their boat trailer, removed all the chocks raised Jacana off the ground via their mobile hydraulic pump and we were off.
The excellent photos below are thankfully from our other neighbour on Flying Emma, Manfred Zimmermann.  www.manfredzimmermann.de/segeln/uebersicht/)
