Monday 12th to Tuesday 13th June, Ieraka

Just a one night stop in the very sheltered inlet at the village of Ieraka, anchoring in 2.5m. Ashore we ate in one of the 2 tavernas and without phones (no photos therefore). It is often difficult to find the start of a walk especially when you consider the Greeks don’t go a bundle on signs! We spotted 2 people climbing down a crumbling wall who informed us this was the way. So we walked up the hill to the archaeological site with a burial chamber and stone wall with no phones therefore no photos.

After dinner we were tempted by Mastika, a Greek liqueur made from resin harvested from the Mastic tree on the island of Chios. In the morning we took a walk around the lagoon, then back on the dinghy and rowed to Jacana.
