Another half decent sailing day, although we did motor for a few minutes to avoid a collision course with an oil tanker crossing the busy main shipping lanes between Kithera and the mainland. We carried on down the eastern side to anchor in Nikolaos Bay off Avelomona.
Jacana and Muskrat were the only 2 boats there. We took the dingy ashore and were immediately surprised at how beautiful Avelomona was, with it’s terraced bays, the obligatory fort and very inviting tavernas.
On Saturday we went ashore with Chris and Alison and in the evening enjoyed a meal together, whilst watching and experiencing a wedding procession walking past.
A truly delightful village.
