We arrived in Fiscardo around lunchtime expecting the place to be heaving but found a spot on the Town Quay wall literally an arms length from restaurant tables on the pavement. It’s a thriving village with ferries and tourist boats bringing hoards of visitors for a few hours each day, so we decided to avoid the crowds, face the heat and walk the couple of miles round a couple of bays to a cave via a Roman cemetery . Also a couple of well earnt happy hour cocktails unfortunately followed by a disappointing meal in one of the many tavernas. Sunday we took a walk round to the ancient Venetian lighthouse and the ruins of a 6th century Christian Basilica. A paddle in the sea allowed some respite from the sun and also an opportunity to do more litter picking.
