Wednesday 1 June to Friday 3rd June, (big) Vathi, Itheka

We’re getting very low on water, so decided to go back to Vathi to top up, though not before a decent sail for a couple of hours, and in the right direction! So a couple of nights again on the western town quay and the opportunity to explore the town a bit more and on Wednesday night sample the excellent and inexpensive Taverna Kalkanis Local. If fact so much roasted pork that we had enough for Thursday dinner on board. When we arrived on Wednesday we initially moored up on the protruding wall we’d moored up to a few days earlier, however we were soon moved on as a cruise ship was turning up at 0900 on Thursday morning, so a bit more stern to practice just along the wall a few yards away. We awoke on Thursday morning to discover the 220 ft ‘Monet’ tied up a few yards away. We’d been totally oblivious to its arrival at about 0800. Around Thursday lunchtime we received the email we’d been awaiting telling us that our residency permits were ready and waiting in Agrinio. A bit of a shame that it didn’t come earlier as we could have made Messolonghi for Thursday evening and picked up the permits on Friday. But no problem, we’ll head there for Monday.
