After a run ashore to see the surprisingly attractive town of Preveza and to stock up with some food, we raised anchor and motor sailed out through the narrow dredged channel and sailed a few miles south to the entrance to the Lefkas canal. More by luck than judgement we only had to wait 5 minutes for the floating swing road bridge to open (although there was a slight additional delay to lower the ramps to let an ambulance pass) and enter the final stretch to take us to Lefkas marina. Having left Preveza after midday we now had a 17 knot crosswind as we reversed in. After a perfect approach, despite the wind, we then had problems with the lazy line, where a crew member dropped it not once but twice!, the second time dropping it near the prop where it was instantly sliced through by the rope cutter.
We eventually made it through and finally met up with Gwen and Pete who are starting to make Lefkas their home.
