A chance to re stock and do something towards getting a residency permit. We believe that the residency process involves taking certain documents to an office, filling in a form, paying 50cents and a week later you pick it up. So stage one involved finding the office, which according to a website was a couple of miles towards Corfu town from Gouvia, which it wasn’t! Next instruction was near the old hospital, which Google said was in the old Fort. So cycling there we did what we should have done at the start, ask a policeman, who sent us back in the opposite direction to the site of the old hospital which is now police HQ. We got as far as reception to be told, not unexpectedly, that we need an appointment, so now armed with a phone number, we have an appointment for next Tuesday. We did actually try the number earlier in the day but got no reply. Had we persisted we would have saved ourselves considerable sweat! At least we saw something of Corfu town.
