Rowed ashore at Scilla and took a tour of the castle and church. Then looked around the quaint fishing port where we spotted one of the sword fish boats going out. Having not seen a marina since last Wednesday (Amalfi) we were getting low on water and provisions, so we headed the 12 miles south through the Messina Straits to a very rustic and home-made marina at Porto Bolaro. With the 20 knot south westerly it was touch and go whether we were going in (very little protection) but with the wind forecast to drop at dusk we went for it and were the only boat in. We moored side-on with the help of 2 guys onshore who grabbed our lines. And with a very large shopping mall literally 4 mins from the boat we took the opportunity to stock up on food and beer and wine from the large Carrefour supermarket. As swimwear features a lot on this journey we also took the opportunity to top up our supplies of this too.
