Thursday 22nd August
A day's sightseeing around Avignon including Le Petit Train not, however, before we were asked to move, twice! The first time by the Captainaire because where we'd tied up was fairly shallow, and because all the hydroelectric power generation on the Rhone, changes the water levels quite rapidly, and not wanting to be left high and dry, we moved along the quay. However Thursday morning another request to move up as a passenger barge was arriving in about 30 mins. No problem as we were up and about, but what was a huge problem was the smell of cooking bacon on the barge! We haven't seen or smelt any proper bacon since leaving the UK.
