Day 74 Chaumont to Foulain

Monday 15th July

A bit of a late start today as we needed to wait for the Capitainarie to open to do the laundry plus a quick cycle ride along the canal to the supermarket to top up with food, as we're heading for a couple of days possibly devoid of civilisation. So it's a fairly short run (this is becoming the norm!) with 7 locks over 6 miles, the bollards of a couple of which were totally out of reach even standing on the coach roof with the long boat hook. When we arrived at Foulain, both single boat berths were full, so we pulled up at a very peaceful spot about 3 feet off a stone wall resting in the mud with 2 lines and stakes secured to the bank. After dinner a walk round the village did reveal a boulangerie!
