Friday 12th July
A standard day really, a quick cycle ride to get a fresh baguette, then off. Today it was 8 locks over about 7 miles, through pretty countryside and a few small villages, although one of the locks was too high to reach the bollards even with the long pole, so a quick change of plan was needed with a quick shin up the ladder. In Chaumont we were able to get a long desired shower! And with Bastille celebrations tomorrow we've decided to stay put for 3 nights.
