We want to get to Chaumont for the weekend, but being 11 locks upstream, we've decided to break the journey at Vieville, a small village with nothing going for it other than a boulangerie and a post office, and an attractive and shaded quay.
Therefore only 3 locks and 3 miles! More tomorrow. Although one of the locks did take us up 3.9 metres. We're now at 226 metres above sea level.
