Today marks the 2 month point, so what's it like living in a 36 foot (actually 37) floating caravan. Well we can both honestly say that we are greatly enjoying the experience. Jacana so far is working out as ideal for our plans, she's roomy and works very well as a live aboard boat and as we've got to know her better, beginning to realise just how well she's laid out. Also despite the recent record temperatures in France, she is surprisingly cool below. The stern cabin is both spacious and very comfortable even allowing me to completely stretch out, the galley is well planned and efficient as is the main saloon. We've also the comforts of hot and cold water, efficient fridge (although we do lose things sometimes in the cans and bottles of beer in the bottom), dvd player, TV (but no aerial at the moment) , and good internet allowing radio and TV streaming.
So what are we missing compared with home life, well not a lot really other than a washing machine and dishwasher perhaps! (oh and salad cream!). Ann is missing flowers but is getting her fix by occasionally picking wild ones.
So far we've absolutely no regrets, with every new day bringing new beautiful countryside and experiences.
