Mindful for the need of a new tender, we arranged 3 nights in Lakki Marina. On arriving, we were directed into the most difficult berth in the marina, being between 2 boats in the corner at right angles to each other, with barely a boat width between their bows and mooring lines, and then a sharp 45° turn to just fit in the corner slot needing manual assistance from the marino on one of the stern lines and one of the boat owners keeping our bow off his boat, and of course a slight cross wind, Ann did it perfectly!
On arrival we phoned the chandlery at the yard at the top of the island, paid for the tender at the marina reception, and within 20 mins it had been delivered. This time, we’re protecting the tender with custom made chaps. So a visit to the local sail maker to arrange it’s collection the next morning and decide on a colour for the cover, and insist that it be ready when we return in September – we shall see!
Austrian friends Inge and Toni were back on the island preparing their boat for launch on Saturday so we took the opportunity to eat with them in Marietta’s taverna on Wednesday evening and again in the Lakki Gyro restaurant on Thursday along with other Austrian friends of theirs Tom and Be-artur and their daughter and boyfriend.
We’re being lifted out at 0800 on Saturday, so we escaped the marina late Friday morning.
